Section 43: SJKC Kg Baru Mahsan
SJKC KG BARU MAHSAN
In 1952, shortly after the establishment of the Mahsan New Village, the first Village Head, Zhu Ming, and the President of the Bahau MCA, Ye Liao Shui, collaborated to plan the construction of a school. On September 26, 1953, our school officially commenced its classes. At that time, the school had only 3 classrooms and one teacher's dormitory. Chen Xin Yi served as the inaugural principal, with Qiu Shang as the first chairman of the school board.
In 1978, with a growing student population, the existing 3 classrooms proved insufficient. Chairman Liu Guangen, Principal He Junjiang, and the committee members of PTA worked tirelessly to secure funding from the Ministry of Education. By 1980, their efforts paid off, leading to the construction of a new two-story school building featuring 6 classrooms, a teachers' office, and a library.
In 2003, the Education Bureau granted approval for the introduction of preschool education classes within the school. This development positioned the school as the sole Chinese primary school in the Jempol District to provide such classes.
In 2004, under the leadership of Chairman Liu Guan Gen, PTA President Chen Guo You, and director Lian Ya Ming, fundraising efforts were initiated to construct two additional classrooms. Simultaneously, a 1.5-acre vacant land behind the school was developed into a sports field.
In 2006, the rapid growth of the real estate sector in the vicinity and population surge led to an student to around 300, necessitating the formation of 12 classes. Unfortunately, only 6 classrooms met standards, compelling the school to utilize unconventional spaces like the science lab, auditorium, library, and computer room for classes. 6 years earlier, our school had begun the process of seeking government funding for a new building. Past chairpersons of the PTA including Lu Yahao, Lee Kim Hock, Chen Guoyou, as well as Principal Lin Shenzhan, took the initiative to organize visits by the Chief Minister and Deputy Minister of Education to the school. These visits aimed to provide a firsthand understanding of the challenging conditions we faced. Thanks to the persistence effort of our school board, the plan for the new construction was eventually included in the 9th Malaysia Plan.
In 2007, our school was received a grant of RM3,280,000.00 from Education Department for the construction of 2 three-story new school buildings and one preschool education classroom where there were completed in June 2009 and inaugurated on July 1, 2009. These modern facilities include an auditorium, an administrative office, teachers' offices, a resource center, science laboratories, a meeting room, specialized life skills rooms, auxiliary facilities, and 6 modern classrooms. With this, our school's basic infrastructure is now considered well-equipped to meet our needs for decades to come. We would like to take this opportunity to express our gratitude for the contributions of our esteemed predecessors and the unwavering dedication and relentless efforts of all former members of the school board.
