Section 41: Hundred years of history Mahsan former police station
Hundred years of history Mahsan former police station could be turned into a museum
In the year 2016, DAP Bahau state assemblyman Zhou Shi Yang, with his assistants visited the Mahsan former police station.
The hundred years old Mahsan former police station has been abandoned for a long time and is to be restored and converted into a police museum. Its historical value definitely helps to promote Jempol District as a tourist attraction.
The building was built during the British colonial period. It was a two-story building with an observation deck and a detention room. From the observation deck, the entire village can be seen clearly. On the other side, the iron door of the detention room was made with more than hundred catties (about 60 kg.) of iron. The building is full of stories, and hence, its historical value is certainly not to be underestimated.
The thick concrete wall was bulletproof and the holes on the wall were used to counterattack. There was an office, a small kitchen with a chimney and a special low back door, which was the escape door. All these reflected the actual needs and situation at that time.
Chew Seh Yong said that he would suggest to the police authority that the former police station, which was abandoned for a long time, be restored to its original appearance and to turn into a police museum. The museum was then not only to display old police cultural relics and commemorate the history of the police, but also to promote the tourism industry in Jempol Disrict, killing two birds with one stone.
The Mahsan Police Station covers an area of about three acres. Ther are currently two police officers on duty. It is good to transform the former police station to benefit the local residents.
